Coffee Klatch

Most Sunday's at precisely 3:00pm, the words "Coffee Klatch!" reverberate across the Lake and echo from the hills. Rock Lodge has evolved many traditions over its 70+ year history, but none are as old or beloved as the Sunday Afternoon Coffee Klatch.

Each Klatch, different members provide a sumptuous spread of munchies and deserts on the Bungalow patio. While Klatch is not a competitive sport, some members can't resist going all out in their presentations and culinary prowess. Memorial Day Weekend Bring-a-Dish

Our first big annual party occurs Memorial Day weekend. It's an event of sharing, reviving last season's friendships, and welcoming new members to the Rock Lodge Community. Members, visitors, and guests are encouraged to bring an appetizer, side dish, main dish, or dessert to share. In addition, the club supplies additional main dishes and beverages to round out the fare. And, of course, our entertainment committee provides a wonderful musical accompaniment to the festivity.

Saturday 4th of July Party

Things heat up on the 4th of July Weekend! The weather is warm, the grills are turned on, and the fireworks are ready to go. This is a fun evening with traditional American summer eats: hot dogs, burgers, cole slaw, potato salad, corn, and apple pie. In addition, members add their favorite appetizers and desserts. Note: at Rock Lodge, we take care of our vegetarians and vegans, too!

After dinner, the music cranks up and the dancing begins! We take a brief rest from our disco moves to congregate on Sandy Beach for our gala fireworks display across the lake. Then it's back to the party for more dancing and shmoozing.

International Bring-a-Dish

This mouth-watering food fest often precedes our annual Classical Music Concert. Our members have a broad range of ethnic backgrounds which translate to an amazing variety of dishes from around the world. It isn't unusual to see choices from Sweden, Italy, Israel, Russia, Japan, Sri Lanka, The Ukraine, Mexico, and other far corners of the globe. Rock Lodgers know how to eat!

Labor Day Party

This is the biggest event of the year, held the Saturday evening of a long weekend of wonderful events. Each year, a theme is chosen and members, visitors, and guests are encouraged to costume themselves to match the theme. In 2010, for example, the evening was a Renaissance Faire, with lords and ladies and serfs and jesters galore. We even had a surprise visit from the Queen!

Needless to say, there's always the greatest food, music, dancing, and camaraderie. Plan to be here for the party and even the whole weekend and enjoy the annual Flea Market, Team Tennis Tournament, Lake Day (water fun & games for all ages), and campfire.

Halloween Party

It's farewell to the season with our annual Halloween Party. Food, music, dancing, and creative costumes highlight the final event on our schedule. So dig out your masks and hats and capes and uniforms and witches brooms and ghostly sheets and... well, you get the idea. No tricks here, just lots of treats to end the year.
